Greg Thompson

  • Meet Greg, Co-founder of Autoclaims

    Greg Thompson brings over 15 years of global experience in motor insurance to his role as Senior Assessor at Autoclaims. Starting his career as a Collision Repair Technician, Greg developed expertise in premium vehicle brands such as BMW, Audi, and VW. Greg’s hands-on experience has been pivotal in shaping his approach to insurance vehicle assessing, where precision and expertise are key.


    Throughout his career, Greg has initiated and led significant industry improvements. At IAG, he designed a process to streamline the repair of non-drivable vehicles, improving the efficiency of the repair process. He also remodelled Tower Insurance’s repairer network, introducing a new system that optimised operational efficiencies and stabilised costs—efforts that improved service delivery and customer satisfaction.

       

    As a co-founder of Autoclaims, Greg is at the forefront of integrating advanced technology with client-centred solutions, committed to delivering reliable and scalable services that meet the standards of large insurers.


    Outside the office, Greg enjoys quality time with his wife and daughters and channels his commitment to excellence into his hobbies which include gym, mountain biking and woodworking. A firm believer in proactive engagement, his motto, 'Vision without action is a daydream,' reflects his commitment to turning innovative ideas into reality.


    Greg's dedication to excellence is evident in his continuous efforts to deliver superior customer service, always striving to exceed expectations by embodying the quality he would expect as a customer himself.

Richard Housham

  • Meet Richard, Co-founder of Autoclaims

    Richard Housham has been a driving force in the motor insurance industry for over 20 years, with his expertise spanning panel beating, collision repair, and insurance vehicle assessing. 


    As a Senior Assessor, he plays a pivotal role in claim validation, managing the reinstatement process to adhere to manufacturers' repair requirements, and controlling claim expenditure. His dedication to process development and customer service excellence has led to significant roles such as Area Manager and National Assessing Manager at Tower Insurance, where he led initiatives that enhanced efficiency and customer satisfaction.


    Richard’s impact on the industry is recognised through multiple awards, including the IAG Claims Service Person of the Year and the Tower Customer Experience Award. He holds a trade qualification in collision repair, I-CAR accreditation, and a Management Diploma, with additional training in viticulture.


    In his personal time, Richard enjoys outdoor activities like enduro dirt biking and hiking, and he has a keen interest in American BBQ and audio mixing. His personal philosophy, 'Treat others how you want to be treated,' reflects his commitment to empathy and integrity in all professional engagements. 


    Richard is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, believing that the true value of an insurance policy is demonstrated through the quality of the claims experience it supports.

Driven to revolutionise the vehicle assessment process, Greg and Richard founded Autoclaims to address gaps observed in traditional assessment practices—particularly the need for greater accuracy, efficiency, and customer-centric service. 


Greg and Richard bring 35 years of combined experience in vehicle insurance and collision repair to Autoclaims, creating a foundation built on deep industry knowledge and a shared vision for excellence. 


Together, Greg’s technical expertise and forward-thinking approach, along with Richard’s strategic management skills and commitment to service excellence, ensure that Autoclaims not only meets but exceeds its clients' evolving needs. Their leadership is characterised by a proactive stance on innovation and a genuine commitment to improving the claims experience, making Autoclaims a leader in the vehicle assessment industry.
